Navy peas have to be soaked before being cooked. When adding the sugar, make sure to stir it until it dissolves. When dissolving the sugar, make sure that the heat is not too high, so the sugar does not caramelize.

Ingredients
- 17 ½ ounces (500 grams) navy beans
- 3 ½ ounces (100 grams) dried plums
Seasonings (all to taste)
- crystal sugar
- white sugar
- honey

Cooking Directions
- Pick out and rinse the navy beans.
- Put the navy beans in warm water for 10 hours until they are completely soaked.
- Add the navy beans to a pot, and add water as needed without covering them completely.
- Add the dried plums, white sugar, crystal sugar, and honey. Bring to the boil. Skim off any froth and reduce to a simmer for 30 minutes, until soft and sticky.
- Remove from the heat and place in a receptacle to cool. Plate and serve.
