Cantonese sausage, also known as Lap Cheong, is a delicious type of sausage with thin skin and ample meat inside. It goes great in this congee dish when combined with the crisp texture of carrots. Ingredients
- 1 cup (200 grams) japonica rice
- 5.29 ounces (150 grams) Cantonese sausage
- 0.8 ounce (25 grams) carrot
Seasonings
- peas as desired
- scallions as desired
- ginger as desired
- salt to taste
- chicken bouillon to taste
- ground pepper to taste

Cooking Directions
- Wash sausages. Steam sausages until cooked. Dice into 1-centimeter cubes.
- Wash and peel carrots; dice. Wash scallions and ginger. Mix them into a scallion-ginger juice.
- Wash japonica rice. Cook peas in boiling water.
- Bring water, japonica rice, sausage, and carrots to boil in pot. Add scallion-ginger juice and ground pepper.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer to create a congee. Add salt and chicken bouillon to taste. Sprinkle peas on top and serve.
