Beef is a very important ingredient in Chinese Food Therapy. According to traditional Chinese medicine, beef can help fight disease, supplement the center, boost qi, and nourish the spleen and stomach. Cucumber contains ample vitamin B1, which makes it good for improving the brain and nervous system. Chinese often combine beef and cucumbers together to create a dish that can sooth one's nerves and help treat insomnia.
Preparing the Ingredients
The beef must be shredded by hand, not cut with a knife. Chili oil can be stirred into the dish with fried, cut chili peppers.

- 8.81 ounces (250 grams) beef
- 7.05 ounces (200 grams) cucumber
Seasonings
- chili to taste
- sugar to taste
- soy sauce to taste
- chili oil to taste
- pepper oil to taste
- salad oil to taste

Cooking Directions
- Wash cucumber, then strain away excess water.
- Shred cucumber with a diagonal cutting technique. Place in bowl.
- Put on disposable gloves to pull apart cooked beef with your hands to create long strips. Place in bowl.
- Mix in sugar, soy sauce, chili oil, and pepper oil. Stir evenly. Move to plate.
- Heat oil in pot. Add chili and cook to create chili oil. Drizzle chili oil on top of dish. Serve.
