Congee that Helps Treat Insomnia
Abalone and sea cucumber congee is high in protein. It also contains calcium, iron, iodine, vitamin A, and other nutrients that people need in their diet. How to Select the Best Abalone
High-quality abalone is rice-yellow or light brown in color. It will have a healthy sheen. It should be oval-shaped with no blemishes, and dry. There should be thin, powdery salt on its surface.

Ingredients
- 10.5 ounces (300 grams) congee base
- 1 abalone
- 1 soaked sea cucumber
- 0.4 cup (100 milliliters) soup stock
Seasonings
- 1.05 ounces (30 grams) scallion
- salt to taste
- ground pepper to taste
- salad oil to taste

Cooking Directions
- Wash abalone. Scald in hot water for approximately 1 minute. Extract meat. Remove innards. Cut into thin slices. Wash again.
- Cut open sea cucumber. Wash away the sand and other detritus in the innards. Chop scallions.
- Heat oil in pain. Fry scallions until aromatic. Add abalone, sea cucumber, and soup stock.
- Once the abalone is cooked, add the congee base and bring to boil.
- Add salt and ground pepper as desired. Serve.
